Submission Deadline Extended to: October 4, 2024
The Pediatric Endocrinology Nursing Society (PENS) Conference Planning Committee welcomes proposals for oral presentation on new, innovative, and practical approaches that can be used for a variety of pediatric endocrine disorders as well as topics of interest to nurses and other pediatric endocrine healthcare professionals. You are invited to submit a proposal for presentation at the 2025 PENS National Conference to be held April 30 – May 3, 2025 at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri. (The submission of poster abstracts will be through the Call for Poster Abstracts to be released around October 15, 2024.)
The PENS Conference Planning Committee will review proposals for oral presentations to fill general and concurrent sessions which may incorporate panel discussions, debate with moderator, practical application of research, and advanced case studies. Proposals will be reviewed for adherence to the following criteria:
-
- Relevance of topic to current challenges in pediatric endocrinology
-
- Clarity of description of the content and presentation methods
-
- Depth, focus, level of target audience, and innovative spin
-
- Amount and type of interactive learning
-
- Amount of late-breaking, cutting-edge content, including pharmacology content
-
- Absence of commercial content
Please refer to the links below for assistance in developing your presentation.
The committee has provided below a list of session topics requested by the PENS membership to use in developing your proposals.
We are specifically seeking patient cases on topics that have not been recently presented at a PENS conference and especially those that include pharmacology content. This can include: helping attendee learn the pharmacology of common medications, preparing attendee to select the proper pharmacotherapeutics based on a clinical presentation, and give attendee insights on incorporating evidence-based changes into practice. Learning objective should clearly reflect the educational activity that contains pharmacology content.

Advanced Practice Nursing Case Studies
Cases can vary from routine to complex, as in a case that has been solved or one that you need help with, and a success story or one that didn’t go so well. They can speak to the lessons you learned or a unique approach you took. This is your opportunity to gain public speaking experience by presenting a 15-25 minute clinical case (plus 5 minutes for audience participation = 20-30 minutes total) in front of your peers, mentors, and friends.
Submission Deadline: September 27, 2024
